Beam Health and athenahealth partner to embed AI-powered automation across the athenaOne ecosystem

4 min read February 5, 2026

Beam Health today announced a strategic partnership with athenahealth, a leading provider of network-enabled software and services for medical practices and health systems. This collaboration will integrate Beam’s AI-driven operational agents directly into the athenaOne platform, enabling practices to automate critical workflows while preserving their existing EMR and practice infrastructure.

Together, Beam and athenahealth aim to reduce administrative burden for clinicians, improve claims accuracy, and accelerate revenue cycles across ambulatory, specialty, and surgical practices that use athenaOne.

Through this partnership, practices using athenaOne can leverage Beam Health’s AI-powered platform to streamline clinical and operational workflows end to end. Beam’s modular suite of AI Agents automates patient engagement, intake, eligibility, scheduling, documentation, billing, and support, reducing manual work across the care journey.

On the back end, Beam handles CPT and ICD coding, claims preparation, and error checking to speed up reimbursement and reduce denials. Integrated dashboards provide visibility into provider productivity, revenue performance, and denial trends, enabling faster action. Embedded directly within athenaOne, Beam helps practices cut administrative hours, reduce errors, improve patient retention, and increase visit volume while giving clinicians and staff more time back in their day.

"Healthcare providers deserve the freedom to choose their own systems, with automation that works seamlessly alongside them. Through our collaboration with athenahealth, Beam is opening access to AI-powered workflows for hundreds of thousands of specialty practices using athenaOne. By collaborating with athenahealth, we ensure that clinics and practices already using athenaOne gain AI assistance seamlessly — no migration, no disruption, just smarter workflows."

Sas Ponnapalli, CEO of Beam Health

The partnership will begin with a cohort of early adopters, building on Beam’s existing relationships with provider groups that have 100+ clinicians on the athenaOne platform. Beam and athenahealth will co-deploy solutions with these organizations and track performance metrics such as time saved per clinician, reductions in billing errors, and improvements in reimbursement speed. As results are validated, the integration will expand to additional athenaOne customers nationwide, with broader availability planned throughout 2026.
